Fatma Mohammed Salem Mohammed is Acting General Manager of Ajman Free Zone and brings 18 years of experience working in the Free Zone sector, with large operations, and managing billion-dirham investments. Her career has involved a wealth of appointments on some of the UAE government’s most prominent trade and industry councils and sub-committees.
Her role at Ajman Free Zone sees her spear-heading the organisation’s growth plans in line with the UAE government’s 2021 vision, and as such, she is responsible for implementing a variety of initiatives to ensure that the Free Zone remains competitive and a preferred choice for investors representing a variety of industry sectors. She has played an instrumental role in the transformation of the organisation into a digitized process driven entity, in order to guarantee businesses and entrepreneurs of an easy, convenient experience from the start-up process and beyond. She is also behind the “one stop shop” concept, a proposition which sees the Free Zone offering many advantages to investors, aimed at encouraging them to maintain and grow their operations in Ajman, supported by a range of ongoing services and benefits.
Fatma has achieved many accolades, recognitions and accomplishments in her career. These include “Winner of the Emirates Women Award” in the Leadership Category from Dubai Quality Group, Honored by HE Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum in 2016. She was the innovation Leader and shortlisted in 2014 at Dubai Model Centre of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart Government Award for 4 years running for driving Innovation & efficiency in services.
Sheikha Al Nuaimi has worked across a variety of Ajman Free Zone departments in different fields, over a 12 year period, before becoming Executive Director of Marketing & Sales. She is responsible for raising awareness of the organization amongst a regional and global audience, playing a key role in the identification of ripe markets and sectors and creating appropriate marketing strategies that position Ajman Free Zone as the preferred choice for investors to locate their businesses.
She is responsible for ensuring that appropriate communications are delivered to the relevant audience using the most effective channels. She creates and maintains opportunities to inter-face with prospective investors through a variety of showcases, events and special initiatives, regionally and on a global scale and she plays a key role in ensuring they have relevant information to help them in creating their business. She also ensures that the organization continually meets the needs of investor companies, enabling them to establish and sustain their businesses efficiently.
Sheikha has been credited with a wealth of awards during her time with Ajman Free Zone, including Project Manager Award (AJEP) in 2013, and she played a role in heading innovation team that translated the vision of supporting ideas and innovation leading to “The best organization in Innovation practices in the Emirate of Ajman in 2017 (AJEP) “. Beside that she had an experience being an assessor in number of government awards in UAE.
Sheikha is a graduate of Ajman Leadership Program 2018, and holds a Master of Business Administration degree in HR and Development from The Canadian University of Dubai and also a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Ajman University. She is a Member of the Project Management institute, a Member of PMI Khaleej Chapter and a was a Member of the Board of Directors, PMI- UAE, as well as a Member of Dubai Quality Group.
Bashayer brings to Ajman Free Zone a wealth of experience working within UAE economic and government organizations. Her experience includes positions at Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where she was Director of Ajman Center for Social Responsibility and Director of Strategic Planning.
Bashayer is not only a key leader but also an enabler of collaborations and partnership to drive investment forward. Her key skills in Project Management and Business Process Improvement are utilized in her role as Executive Director of Investment at Ajman Free Zone, where she is responsible for exploring new markets and opportunities, working strategically with private and public sector stakeholders and partners, to ensure that their needs are addressed and that growth objectives are met.
Her focus is on attracting and nurturing both regional and international investors, and she works closely with other departments to position Ajman Free Zone as the ideal location to establish and nurture business.
Working towards the ambitious goals of Vision 2021, Bashayer is experienced in motivating teams to continually achieve best practice, while remaining flexible and responsive to the changing needs of businesses, government departments and the wider economic landscape.
Bashayer holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from Canadian University, Dubai and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems from The University of Sharjah.
Laila Nasser Salem Al Badi boasts over 12 years of professional experience in Strategy, Performance and Project Management working within semi and federal government entities, including the Prime Minister’s Office and Dubai Executive Council. Her career credits are numerous, and include her contribution to developing a new performance system for the UAE federal government and managing the Strategy Execution System for the Infrastructure sector for Dubai Government.
At Ajma Free Zone her responsibilities are focused on the key areas of Planning and Development, Performance for Delivering Strategy, and Innovation and Excellence, with the aim being to maintain the highest levels of performance and best practice across the organization.
Internally, Laila has played a key role in developing and implementing methodologies for performance measurement to ensure that departments and their teams function at their optimum level to serve investors’ needs. On an external platform, she acts as a facilitator of alignment initiatives between Ajman Free Zone, a wealth of government departments and investor companies, ensuring that businesses can prosper with appropriate support from the relevant entity.
Laila holds an MSc in Strategy and Innovation from The University of Southampton, UK, and a Bachelor in Science from Zayed University, specializing in Finance.
Abdulrahman joined Ajman Free Zone as Executive Director of the Property Sector in 2018. Prior to his senior position at Ajman Free Zone, he worked in the Department of Economic Development – Ajman from 2015 – 2017 as Head of Commercial Licensing, and from 1998 – 2008, in various positions in Ajman’s Municipality and Planning Department.
Abdulrahman is in charge of leading the team that is responsible for the maintenance of AFZ’s facilities and infrastructure and ensuring compliance with rules and regulations in order to maintain optimum services and satisfy investors’ requirements. The Department is responsible for Health and Safety procedures and compliance concerning environmental considerations at the Free Zone, and internal co-ordination with related government departments, Engineering Projects department, Construction of the new Infrastructures and Facilities.
He is playing a key role in driving forward a sustainability agenda at Ajman Free Zone, central to which is the application of solar power, which is being installed across a range of facilities, and also eco-warehousing, which is slated to be delivered in 2020. Ensuring the satisfaction of investors who are environmentally conscious and want to work within an infrastructure that is considerate of this is a key responsibility.
Mohamed Ali Obaid Al Shaya brings over 15 years of experience in Technology Management to Ajman Free Zone, his previous positions including those of Director of Planning & Implementation at DU and Head of Operation - Gateway Station at Thuraya.
Mohamed is responsible for developing and managing all of Ajman Free Zone’s technology related projects, and he has led our ambitious digital transformation initiative, resulting in our customers benefitting from the convenience of a seamless online system, incorporating a range of functions, from the registration and set-up process, through to accessing support services.
Mohamed also manages the day to day internal technical operations and performance across all departments and is responsible for the implementation of new and advanced technologies to ensure that Ajman Free Zone consistently offers best practice in all areas of digitization and e-services.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management from Higher Colleges of Technology, Dubai and has a Higher Diploma in Applied Electronics & Computer Systems from Higher Colleges of Technology, Sharjah.
