Ajman Transport Authority and Ajman Free Zone explore areas of cooperation


Eng. Omar Ahmed bin Omair, Director General, Ajman Transport Authority (ATA), recently welcomed the visit of an official delegation from the Ajman Free Zone (AFZ) headed by its Director General, H.E. Eng. Ali Abdulla Bin Towaih Al Suwaidi, to the Command Centre of the ATA. The visit was aimed at exploring possible areas of cooperation between the AFZ and ATA. Also present during the visit were executive directors from both entities.

During the meeting, the AFZ delegation was given a briefing about the diverse portfolio of products and services that the ATA offers, including the MASAAR Cards initiative and the work mechanisms being followed by public transport busses. Also showcased were the commercial transport services provided by Sawari Limousine and the ATA services that are currently available through its very own smart application.

In response, H.E. Eng. Ali Abdulla Bin Towaih Al Suwaidi, Director General, AFZ, lauded the ATA for their achievements and progress. He emphasized the importance of increased cooperation between the two entities, which plays an important role in achieving their respective mandates.

Furthermore, future transport projects in the emirate of Ajman, such as the Public Transport Main Terminal, came under the spotlight during the meeting, and the parties exchanged development suggestions and ideas to further upgrade the government services provided to the public.

Eng. Omar Ahmed bin Omair, Director General, ATA, extended his appreciation to the AFZ for their continued support and visit, which demonstrates the strategic partnership of both parties. He pointed out that meetings with government entities like the AFZ play a significant role in the move to maximize the efficiency of government-backed initiatives and projects in line with the objectives set forth in Ajman Vision 2021.

“We are pleased to have visited the ATA's Command Centre, which gave us the unique opportunity to closely observe the ATA's services and operations while also being able to address topics of common interest. We have also exchanged proposals and suggestions aimed at improving and fostering stronger collaboration--thereby enhancing initiatives and projects undertaken by both departments. we would like to express our sincere appreciation to Eng. Omar Ahmed bin Omair for presenting the Authority’s vision and throwing a spotlight on the scope of its services and operations,” concluded Al Suwaidi.
