Within the framework of activating the strategic partnership between the Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) and the Ajman Free Zone (AFZ), aiming at integration, interdependence, and achieving mutual benefits between the two sides, which has an impact on the local economy of the emirate, and puts the emirate on the map of local, regional, and international competitiveness, and also contributes to achieving visions, objectives, and the strategic goals for each entity separately; the two parties started in 2021 by launching the Mutual Trade Names Integration Project between the two parties.
In this context, Saud Sultan Al-Shammari, Director of the Commercial Registration Department, stated that the project comes within the framework of the strategic partnership between the Ajman DED and the AFZ, and that the project is of utmost importance to the joint investors between the two sides, especially that the project has long-term strategic dimensions and objectives that contribute to the integration and the electronic connectivity between the two sides.
Al-Shammari explained that the project is the result of cooperation and strategic partnership between the two parties, and their efforts to protect investors, by providing a unified mechanism for searching and inquiring at the emirate level about available or prohibited trade names. The project will provide new digital features and services in the economic licensing systems of the two parties, which will contribute to improving the quality of the economic services provided, protecting the trade names that are trademarks and intellectual property of their owners, and preventing repetition and duplication between the databases of the two parties.
Al-Shammari added that the electronic connectivity between the systems will contribute to the speed and accuracy of the completion of joint operations, procedures, and services between the Ajman DED and the AFZ, which will have an impact on the level of trust and credibility in the investment and economic environment in the emirate, and contribute to achieving the Department's vision that aims at achieving a sustainable competitive economy based on knowledge and innovation, and raising the emirate's competitiveness at the local, regional, and international levels.
